QualiCert is Switzerland’s oldest and only independent, privately funded certification body for prevention and exercise programmes – and the professionals who deliver them. Our roots go back to a 1996 initiative by SWICA, later joined by other health insurers.
At the time, there was a clear need: an independent, expert-based organisation was required to assess which providers truly promoted health and met the necessary qualifications. The goal was to establish a standardised, transparent foundation for recognising and reimbursing prevention services – as a service to health insurers and a safeguard for the insured. QualiCert was born from this need.
Initially known as QUALITOP, then as QualiCert GmbH, and today as QualiCert AG, we have continuously developed our certification procedures and audit processes. Our portfolio has grown systematically – from fitness centres and course providers to climbing and bouldering facilities, which became a dedicated category in 2025.
As a leading independent institution for quality, safety, standardisation, and certification, QualiCert has been building measurable trust for decades – among providers, professional bodies, health insurers, and clients. Our mission: to certify programmes in a way that ensures safety and quality are not only guaranteed, but continuously improved.
Today, more than 600 fitness centres, 1,700 providers, and 5,000 instructors place their trust in QualiCert. This makes us the largest and most recognised certification body in Switzerland – the go-to authority for quality, safety, and standardisation in health-promoting prevention and exercise programmes.
Thanks to close collaboration with public authorities, health insurers, professional associations, and both national and international bodies, we continuously develop our certification procedures. This ensures that they meet current practical requirements, remain aligned with relevant frameworks, and guarantee the highest quality. Our actions are guided by clear strategic objectives – with a focus on excellence, customer value, and continuous improvement.
