Procedure

In order for you as the operator:of a climbing or bouldering facility to receive a valid certification, you must first undergo initial certification.

After successful initial certification, QualiCert carries out an annual evaluation. If all requirements are met, certification is confirmed for a further year.

Not yet certified

I would like to certify my climbing or bouldering facility for the first time.

The initial certification process comprises five steps and usually takes two to three months. Find out in advance about the fees and the requirements that need to be met to certify your climbing facility. The process can be cancelled after each step.

Step 1

Submit your application

Register your climbing or bouldering facility for certification by completing and submitting the application form. At the same time, pay the application fee shown on the form. This will be deducted from the further procedure.

Once payment has been received, QualiCert will send you the complete documentation: an overview of which documents need to be submitted and in what form, as well as detailed information on the rest of the certification process.

to the application form

Step 2

Checking the basic requirements

As soon as we have received your complete data and the fee for the evaluation of the documents has been paid, your details, evidence and documents will be analysed. If the basic requirements have been validly checked, we will arrange an appointment with you on site.

Our experts will personally guide you through the entire process.

Step 3

On-site inspection

An auditor from QualiCert will visit your climbing or bouldering facility, clarify any final ambiguities and check other criteria directly on site to ensure full compliance with the standard.

The audit is carried out in a practical and supportive manner - with the aim of optimally preparing your climbing facility for certification.

Step 4

Analysing the results

QualiCert prepares a detailed evaluation report on the on-site inspection.

  • All criteria fulfilled: Your climbing centre is ready for certification.
  • Open points: You receive clear specifications on the necessary measures and submit the evidence.
Step 5

Completion & certification

Congratulations: Your climbing facility fulfils all quality criteria.

  • Once you have paid the remaining fee, you will receive QualiCert certification.
  • The initial certification is valid until 31 December of the current year and is extended for a further year upon payment of the annual recertification fee.
  • You will receive the certificate and the seal of approval as well as the ZSR number for billing with health insurers (QualiCert will cover the application and costs).
  • We also provide you with extensive communication materials - from the subscription confirmation for your customers, seal of approval files and social media content to counter displays and other supporting documents.

Already certified

The annual recertification is due.

To ensure that your certification remains valid, it is reviewed annually. In the event of deviations, the implementation of the corrective measures recorded in the audit report must be demonstrated. The recertification process comprises four steps.

Step 1

Annual fee & employee registration

The recertification fee must be paid in December for the coming year. This is the only way that the evaluation can start as planned in the new year - and full recognition by the health insurers is guaranteed.

At the beginning of the year, you will also be asked to review the employee situation in your organisation and report any changes.

Step 2

Evaluation information & review of employee qualifications

In the first quarter, QualiCert informs your climbing centre in detail about the planned evaluations so that you can prepare optimally.
At the same time, your submitted documents on the employee situation are checked for qualifications and evidence.

Step 3

Evaluation

Evaluations take place every year between May and the end of October. These can take place on site, via video conference or as a review of information or documents. After the evaluation, the climbing facility receives a test report that provides information on the results and any corrective measures.

Step 4

Successful maintenance of certification

After a successful audit and payment of the annual recertification fee, your climbing centre will receive confirmation of certification for a further calendar year at the beginning of November. This ensures successful cooperation with QualiCert for another year.

Criteria

Our quality criteria - for your benefit

As a certification organisation and independent, neutral third party, QualiCert tests exclusively according to clearly and unambiguously defined quality criteria. Climbing and bouldering centres are evaluated according to the ClimbingSafe standard. It sets out binding requirements for safety, quality and operation - from operator responsibility, supervision and team qualifications to infrastructure (route construction, maintenance and cleaning, escape routes). Comprehensive emergency management with organisation, first aid and documented emergency training as well as instruction, binding rules of conduct and an access system are also regulated. This creates a reliably safe and high-quality environment for all users.

Fees

Our certification fees cover all services - with no hidden additional costs. The price includes the entire certification process, the administration of your ZSR number as well as advice and support materials.

There are two types of procedure - and correspondingly different fees:

  • Initial certification: one-off overall evaluation
  • Re-certification: annual surveillance evaluation

The fee for the one-off initial certification is CHF 2,000 (excl. VAT, incl. ZSR number).

Active VSBK members benefit from special conditions.

The fee for annual recertification is CHF 1,600 (excl. VAT, incl. ZSR number).

Questions and answers

A ZSR number is the registration number in the official paying agent register of the Swiss healthcare system. You need this number so that your customers can claim prevention contributions on their subscription or course costs from the health insurance companies.

The number is issued by SASIS AG, a subsidiary of the health insurance association santésuisse. SASIS AG charges a one-off fee of CHF 324 incl. VAT for the application. Those who submit the application themselves must also expect a high administrative effort and a processing time of up to three months.

QualiCert eliminates this effort for you: we apply for the ZSR number as part of the initial certification directly and in the shortest possible time. The fee is already included in your initial certification fee - you save costs, time and bureaucracy. The annual costs for the ZSR number are also already included in your re-certification fee with QualiCert.

A certificate is the formal confirmation from an independent certification body that an institution fulfils the requirements specified in a standard or normative document. It is a conformity assessment by a third party. A certificate always refers to a clearly defined scope, has a period of validity and is maintained through regular reviews.

A certificate from QualiCert confirms that an institution fulfils the quality and safety criteria defined in a standard. This is based on various standards, for example the FitSafe standard for fitness and health centres or the CourseActive standard for course providers.

QualiCert works as an independent third party - neutral and without conflicts of interest in the industry. This means that the certificate fulfils national and international requirements and is recognised as proof.

For you, this means that your certificate verifiably proves that your company fulfils the required standards - a clear proof of quality with real value.

No problem - missing documents are no obstacle to your certification. QualiCert provides you with help documents and templates with the exact requirements when you register.

These describe how the documents should be created - for example, for a code of ethics or a contract. This means you know exactly what content is expected and can prepare the documents yourself.

Certification by QualiCert brings you numerous advantages as a certified organisation:

  • Your customers or members receive prevention contributions from the health insurance companies.
  • The certificate, seal of approval and confirmation documents make your quality visible.
  • You create trust and clearly differentiate yourself from non-certified programmes.
  • You fulfil binding standards and requirements and therefore have legal security.
  • You can obtain the ZSR number from QualiCert quickly and at no additional cost.
  • Regular audits and inspections ensure that your quality is permanently assured.
  • Clear specifications and supporting documents make it easier to prepare the documentation.
  • As a QualiCert customer, you benefit from personalised advice at all times - whether you have questions about the certification process, how to deal with health insurance companies or how to implement infrastructural requirements.

In this way, you demonstrate quality both internally and externally - and secure a clear competitive advantage.

You will receive a detailed evaluation report after the audit.

If there are any open points, the necessary improvement measures are clearly described in the report. You will find out exactly what evidence or adjustments are still required and will be given a deadline for submitting them.

Our team of experts is always on hand to advise you on the specific implementation - so that the requirements are clearly understood and you can implement them step by step.
