until 31.12.2026
from 01.01.2027

from 01.01.2029

Not yet certified

I would like to be certified as a course provider.

Step 1

Submit your application

Register as a course provider for certification by completing and submitting the application form. At the same time, pay the application fee shown on the form.

As soon as the fee has been received, QualiCert will send you the complete documentation: an overview of which documents must be submitted and in what form, as well as detailed information on the further certification process.

to the application form

Step 2

Checking the basic requirements

As soon as your documents have been submitted in full and the fee has been paid, QualiCert will carefully check your details, evidence and documents.

  • If you are fully compliant, the basic requirements are met and you will be certified as a course provider.
  • If there are any open points, you will receive specific advice on which corrections or additions are still necessary to achieve conformity.

Our experts will personally guide you through the entire process.

Step 3

Completion & certification

Congratulations: You fulfil all quality criteria!

  • You will receive QualiCert certification following a successful audit. The initial certification is valid until 31 December of the current two-year validity period.
  • You will receive the certificate and the quality seal as well as the ZSR number for billing with health insurers (QualiCert will cover the application and costs).
  • We also provide you with extensive communication materials - from the subscription confirmation for your customers to seal of approval files, counter displays and social media content.

Already certified

Re-certification is imminent.

Step 1

Verify information

QualiCert sends providers a request for recertification in the 3rd quarter of the second year of the certification period. For recertification, providers must verify their details, provide proof of liability insurance and register their staff (course instructors). Other requirements may also form part of the review.

Step 2

Evaluation

As soon as your documents have been submitted in full and the recertification fee has been paid, QualiCert will carefully check your details, evidence and documents.

  • If you are fully compliant, the basic requirements are met and you will be recertified as a course provider.
  • If there are any open points, you will receive specific instructions as to which corrections or additions are still necessary in order to achieve conformity.
Step 3

Certification confirmation

Following a successful audit, you will receive confirmation of certification for a further two-year period at the end of December. This ensures successful cooperation with QualiCert for a further two years.

Questions and answers

A course is deemed to be recognised if both the qualification of the course leader and the certification of the provider are available.

In concrete terms, this means

  • The course leader has a valid certification as a course instructor.
  • The course provider is recognised as a provider by the relevant certification body.

Only if both requirements are met can participants claim contributions towards the course costs from their health insurance provider.

The course provider is the legally responsible organiser. This is the legal or natural person who, in accordance with the Swiss Code of Obligations, as the contractual partner of the customer, is liable for ensuring that the contractually agreed consideration for the customer's participation fees is provided. Contractual partners can be companies according to the Swiss Code of Obligations, e.g. AG, GmbH, sole proprietorship, etc., but also natural persons as self-employed persons.

You are a provider in terms of the criteria if you can/must answer "YES" to one or both of the following questions:

  1. From a legal perspective, are you one of the two contractual partners1,2 for the participants in the courses you run and are you therefore liable for the fulfilment of the obligation3 "course service"?
  2. Do you pay yourself the compensation for leading your courses from the income from the participation fees?

If you have answered "YES" to one or both of these questions, you are not only the course leader but also the legally responsible organiser (= provider) of your courses and must be certified in accordance with the criteria. The certification procedure can be applied for by e-mail.

If you have answered "NO" to both questions above, please inform the institution that is the legally responsible organiser of your courses that health insurance contributions for course participants will only be paid if, in addition to you as a certified course instructor, the provider is also certified.

1 Swiss Code of Obligations (OR) Art 1

2 According to the Swiss Civil Code (ZGB) Art 13, a contractual partner can be anyone who has the capacity to act. In accordance with CC Art 12ff, this is the case for natural persons with capacity of judgement and maturity / for legal persons in accordance with CC Art 54 with legal recognition.

3 Contractual liability in accordance with the Swiss Code of Obligations (OR) Art 97ff

The procedure is quick once your documents have been submitted in full. As soon as QualiCert has received everything and the fee has been paid, you will usually receive a response within one to two weeks.

Our experts will support you right from the start - from registration to successful certification. This means you will soon be able to offer your participants a recognised, certified course.

Certification as a provider is generally valid for the current fixed two-year period. At the end of this period, re-certification takes place, during which QualiCert reviews your course programme, further training courses and the certification of all course instructors, among other things.

This keeps your recognition up to date - and your participants can always rely on the quality of your courses.

All providers require suitable liability insurance for certification:

  • Fitness studios or providers in the commercial register → Business liability insurance in the registered name
  • Associations → Association liability insurance in the statutory association name
  • Individuals (self-employed persons) → usually professional liability insurance; depending on the activity and income, business or personal liability insurance may also be recognised

This ensures that you as a provider are adequately insured and that your participants can rely on the highest level of safety.

Yes, in addition to companies such as AGs, GmbHs or sole proprietorships, natural persons can also be certified as self-employed persons. This means that your activity is officially recognised and you can offer your customers courses with a quality certificate. All you need to do is provide proof of a VAT number.

No problem - missing documents are no obstacle to your certification. QualiCert provides you with help documents and templates with the exact requirements when you register.

These describe how the documents should be created - for example, for a code of ethics or a contract. This means you know exactly what content is expected and can prepare the documents yourself.
