FitSafe is the standard for safe training in gyms and fitness centres - for beginners, performance-oriented individuals and people with increased health risks. It specifies binding requirements for organisation, supervision, equipment operation and emergency and safety concepts. A special plus point: FitSafe ensures safety even at times when no staff are physically present.

Ems safe

EMSSafe is the standard for electromyostimulation in studios. It lays down binding requirements for the qualification of support staff, continuous supervision, equipment and safety standards as well as the course of the sessions - so that the high muscle tension generated by EMS can be used in a controlled and safe manner. Tested and certified compliance with the EMSSafe requirements reliably ensures these framework conditions.

CourseActive is the standard for providers of health-promoting courses. It sets out binding requirements for the responsible organisers and the qualifications of all course instructors. It also defines safety, supervision and organisational standards for different course formats - from group to individual offers - and thus ensures comparable, reliably high quality.

Schweizer norm EN 17229

The European standard SN EN 17229 defines the minimum requirements for the equipment and operation of publicly accessible gyms and fitness centres - with the aim of providing a safe, controlled training environment, including the use of digital technologies. It defines organisational and operational requirements, the selection and positioning of training equipment, the basic skills of trainers and requirements for health, safety, accessibility and inclusion. It also contains specifications for unsupervised operating hours.

Climbing safe weiss

ClimbingSafe is the standard for climbing and bouldering centres. It specifies binding requirements for safety, quality and operation - from operator responsibility, supervision and team qualifications to infrastructure (route construction, maintenance and cleaning, escape routes). Comprehensive emergency management with organisation, first aid and documented emergency training as well as instruction, binding rules of conduct and an access system are also regulated. This creates a reliably safe and high-quality environment for all users.

The FitSafe, EMSSafe, ClimbingSafe and CourseActive standards are managed and maintained by the Association for Quality in Training and Exercise (QTB). The SN EN 17229 standard is managed by the Swiss Association for Standardisation (SNV).
